1. Benefits of Altair MotionSolve - Solution for optimization of multi-physical systems
1.1. Minimize product development time
MotionSolve supports large-volume modeling and a variety of analysis methods that facilitate building models from simple to complex during the product design development phase. Through virtual simulation, you will reduce the time and cost of physical testing with the real model, and get the most accurate results.
1.2. Improve product quality
Build a high-fidelity multi-physics model to capture the phenomena and behavior of the product and correctly solve the mathematical equations describing the behavior of the product. Process the product behaviors to determine if the design meets your requirements.
1.3. Promote product innovation
Evaluate the behavior of complex systems in real-world conditions, perform random test and simulation designs to describe and optimize product performance. Use loads calculated by MotionSolve for component weight, rigidity, and other optimizations.
1.4. Minimize design and manufacturing risks
Through simulation will evaluate a series of test and design models very quickly and choose the optimal design. The following designs will be updated from the previous models.
1.5. MotionSolve modeling capabilities

1.6. MotionSolve analytical capabilities
With MotionSolve, you can determine if a system is meeting your desired requirements. You can study the motion behavior of the system, calculate its vibration characteristics, evaluate the performance of the control system contained in that system, and work with research teams to create the actual loads acting on the system and predicting the life of the components in the moving system. If these analysis are not complete you can create and add your own analysis applications through the scripts tool. MotionSolve offers a lot of different options for analyzing system behavior such as:
- Arithmetic-based analytical methods: Implicit / explicit, stiff / non-stiff and DAE / ODE
- Static, semi-static solver for calculating static balance and load balancing problems
- Automatically detect and remove redundant constraints
- Dynamic analysis of motion control systems
- Linear analysis, eigenvalue calculation and energy distribution table
- Co-simulation solves multi-physics problems
- Custom analysis is specified in the user program

MotionSolve contains a complete library of car components to help you build a system. With the support of TNO Delft-Tire, FTire, CD Tire and OpenCRG, MotionSolve will provide you with tire and road models for your simulation applications. Sample formats for subsystems such as suspension, steering and spring are available. MotionSolve helps you to quickly assemble a car or truck step by step. With a user-friendly interface that allows you to define and define the static, dynamic or steady states of your vehicle. Automatically generate reports allowing you to quickly evaluate your system's performance. With these core features, you can design, analyze the car's suspension, evaluate the vehicle's movement, the controller's performance, and conduct virtual trail running simulations to assess the durability, study of noise, vibration (NVH) and vehicle rigidity.
3. Altair MotionSolve - General solution for mechanical and machine systems
Mechanics is applied in all industries. MotionSolve offers comprehensive linking features that let you quickly build and accurately analyze complex systems that can hold thousands of different links. With MotionSolve you can create libraries of various parametric components, sample formats for systems, and use terms to build models and run simulations.
4. 1D - Mechatronic system simulation and control solution
MotionSolve provides advanced features built in to emulate 1D elements and control software that makes it possible to reuse proven MotionSolve models.
- At an early stage in the design process, you can import multi-detailed models from MotionSolve as a linear matrix into your control packages and perform design of control systems.
- Then during the evaluation phase, you can import high fidelity MotionSolve models into Matlab Simulink or SolidThinking Activate for controller evaluation. In the control environment you connect the systems so that they can exchange signals during the runtime of the simulation problem. You then run a simulation of the entire system to evaluate its performance. Additionally MotionSolve can import user-defined Coder C codes and perform similar simulations.
- MotionSolve supports FMI / FMU 2.0 protocols so you can include multiple models that have been developed elsewhere.
5. MotionSolve integrates with Hyperworks - A complete multi-physics simulation environment
With MotionSolve, HyperWorks provides a complete multi-physics simulation environment. You can:
- Easily build multi-physics models in MotionView as well as in HyperMesh
- Examine the results of the system simulation in the form of animations and graphs with HyperView and Altair HyperGraph tools
- Run custom scripts for complex processing with solidThinking Compose
- Perform component optimization with the OptiStruct tool
- Perform component optimization in OptiStruct with the loads computed by MotionSolve
